2023 Launch Success: The secret to making $250k in online sales in your yoga business
Today, I want to share with you some exciting news about what’s been happening behind the scenes at DYA in 2023. It’s been an incredible start to the year, and we’re proud to share that we’ve generated a quarter of a million dollars in online sales in just the first quarter of the year. This is a huge milestone for us, and we want to take a moment to celebrate with our community.
This success is a testament to the incredible work our community of yoga teachers is doing. We’ve seen more teachers investing in themselves and their businesses, trusting in their abilities, and committing to the hard work it takes to elevate their practice. We’re proud to be a part of that journey, and we celebrate all of the students who have trusted themselves to go on this path with us.
At DYA, we believe that together, we can create change in the world. Money is an incredible enabler, and we see it as a way to create more transformative programs that can have a positive impact on our community and the world. We’re grateful for the opportunity to do this work, and we know that it wouldn’t be possible without the support of our incredible community of yoga teachers.
So, congratulations to all of us for showing up, for doing the work, and for committing to creating positive change in the world. We’re proud of ourselves, our team, and our community, and we’re excited to continue this journey together. Thank you for being a part of it!
Our journey…
Today, I want to take you on a journey back to the beginning of Digital Yoga Academy. In 2017, I started this venture while teaching yoga and hosting retreats abroad. It was a slow year of testing, creating offerings, and figuring things out. However, I persisted, and a year later, I started launching online courses and finally started to see some financial results.
But it wasn’t an instant success story. My first-ever launch fell flat, bringing in no revenue. It was a tough pill to swallow, but I knew that building a community takes time. So, I launched again, and this time, I made $1,300. I didn’t let that small success hold me back, though. With each launch, my results multiplied. I went on to have a $10k launch, followed by a $30k launch, and then a $60k launch. It was clear that my hard work and persistence were starting to pay off.
Last year, after four years of launching courses and programs, we hit a significant milestone – one million dollars in total sales revenue. It was a testament to the dedication and hard work of our team and community. But we didn’t stop there. In just the first few months of 2023, we’ve already made $250k in online sales, putting us on track for our first million-dollar year.
Reaching this milestone wouldn’t be possible without the support and trust of our community of yoga teachers. It’s a reminder that success doesn’t come overnight, and it takes time and hard work to achieve our goals. As we move forward, we’re excited to continue growing our community, creating transformative programs, and making a positive impact on the world. Thank you for being a part of this journey with us.
I have to admit that I’m not always comfortable throwing out and sharing these big numbers.
I remember when I first started out, hearing those big numbers would get me excited about the potential for my own business. But at the same time, I would look at my own business and wonder how I would ever get there. Doubt would start to creep in, and I began to question whether I would ever achieve that level of success.
Perhaps you’re thinking, “well that’s all well and good for you Kelly, but I could never make that much money.” Or maybe you believe that my success is only applicable to selling courses to yoga teachers.
But the truth is…
I’m selling courses that solve a problem. And you can do the same. You just need to find your niche – a segment of people that you can target.
For instance, let’s say you’re working with women going through menopause. There are more women in this world going through menopause than there are yoga teachers. And I can guarantee you, there’s competition in this space just like there is in any other. But one thing to remember is that there are thousands of yoga teachers out there – 100k in the US alone. Not all of them are doing what you’re doing.
You are part of the 5% of yoga teachers who are breaking away from the studio and growing a community online. You are ahead of the curve, so do the work and become ahead of the curve in your segment in your space. Become an authority through your content, shine and be visible, speak up, and share your message.
Comparison is the thief of joy
Starting an online business is a journey, and everyone’s journey is unique. It is important to remember that you cannot compare your online business to someone else’s, especially if they have been doing it for a long time. As someone who has been in the online business world for six years now, including a year of testing and figuring things out, I can attest to this fact. It takes time, effort, and long-term strategic planning to succeed in this field.
It is easy to get discouraged when you see others achieving success seemingly overnight. But what you don’t see is the hard work, long hours, and dedication that went into building their online business. Success doesn’t come by luck, it comes from a combination of hard work, a solid plan, and persistence. And even with all of these elements, it can take years to see the results you want.
However, it’s important to celebrate your wins, no matter how small they may seem. When I had my first $30,000 launch, after many failed attempts and small launches, I was just as excited as I am now, making $250 at the start of this year. The reason is simple – it means that people want my programs, they love what I’m doing, and I am making progress. The mindset is still the same: “I cracked a code!”
So, if you are just starting your online business, remember that it takes time, effort, and dedication. It is a journey, and everyone’s journey is different. Don’t compare yourself to others, and celebrate your wins no matter how small they may seem. Keep your eye on the long-term goal, and with a solid plan and persistence, you will achieve the success you desire.
The journey can be fun!
As you embark on your journey to success, remember that your energy matters just as much as any other aspect of your life. Bringing joy, fun, and passion to everything you do will not only make the process more enjoyable, but it will also attract positive energy towards you. If you believe in a higher force, know that spirit is working through you in everything you do, and it thrives on fun, joy, and passion. Patience is key in this process, but with every launch and offering, you are getting closer to your goals. Be proud of yourself for the hard work you are doing to help and serve your amazing students. As you continue on this mindset journey, remember that anything worth having takes time. Trust the process and have patience; it’s all coming. And always keep in mind the word you chose for your business in 2023 – ease.
2023 is the year of ease
It’s amazing to share with you today that our recent launch has been our biggest one yet and the easiest one too. I didn’t feel burnt out at the end, and my team has been amazing. The sales came with ease. This success shows that there’s a lot to be said about the decisions you make. When you decide that your business feels easy, that you are thriving, and that you are on the right path, you decide to show up and serve your community. It takes time, hard work, and continuous learning, but it’s something you can do.
You have control over how much you show up and serve, and when you do the work, you see the growth. These decisions are an energetic investment into your business, and it’s essential to embrace words like 5, 6, or 7 figures. It’s why you’re here, and the more you can build your energetic money reserves, the more impact you can make. So let’s embrace these words and money coming into your business. It’s time to realize that you’re running a business, and businesses make money – or they’re supposed to.
Embracing balance in your masculine & feminine energy as a business owner
As you scale your business, it’s crucial to recognize the importance of balance between the masculine and feminine energies that drive it forward. While strategies and implementation are essential, building a team, receiving support, and maintaining a mindset of ease are equally vital. Trusting that you’ve done the work and allowing events to unfold without being attached to the outcome can create a powerful expansion and journey of growth.
When starting out in business, many people, like the author, tend to focus solely on the best strategies and being in their masculine energy. While this can lead to success, breaking through barriers requires balance. As a business owner, there’s deep inner work that must be done to achieve this balance, and coaches can help by putting a mirror up and showing the shifts that need to be made. The goal is to expand to levels that may seem impossible, but by being in the right containers, removing blocks and guilt around that expansion, and doing the work, it can become a reality.
It’s essential to understand that our thoughts create actions and behaviors, and our energy reflects our beliefs. If you believe generating a specific level of income is impossible, your energetic field will reflect that, and you won’t be able to expand beyond that belief. To expand to your full potential, it’s crucial to work on your energy and mindset and show up to the level of that potential. Remember, the combination of masculine and feminine energies is what supports expansion in your business.
Accepting support in your business
As a new yoga teacher, it’s easy to set your sights on getting just a couple of students and telling yourself that you want to take things slowly. You might say, “I want to get to 1k a month first, and then I’ll aim for 2k a month.” However, this way of thinking can limit the potential of the business you’re creating.
If you set the bar too low, you’ll only be able to achieve what you’ve set your sights on. Instead, you should raise the bar and aim higher. Even if you don’t hit your target the first time around, you’ll be able to learn from your mistakes and try again. By setting higher targets, you’ll be able to scale up your business and attempt more, which will help you make more connections and have more conversations.
Of course, shifting your mindset and belief systems is only part of the equation. You also need a solid strategy in place to help you reach your goals. That’s where our programs come in. No matter where you are in your business journey, we have a program that’s right for you.
